Does your goldendoodle also become 800 pounds at bedtime?! #goldendoodle #clingydog
As a Goldendoodle owner, I can totally relate to the experience of your furry companion suddenly morphing into a '800-pound' cuddle monster at bedtime. It's almost like the moment you hit the pillow, they become five times heavier, spreading out back legs in every direction and slowly taking over the entire bed space – especially the pillows! This behavior isn’t just adorable but also quite common among Goldendoodles and other clingy breeds. Their affectionate nature means they crave closeness with their humans, often wanting to be right beside you, which can sometimes disrupt your sleep. To manage this, I found that setting clear boundaries during the day works wonders. Establish a cozy sleeping spot for your dog close to your bed but not on it, and gradually encourage them to settle there before bedtime. Providing plenty of playtime and mental stimulation during the day can also reduce nighttime restlessness. Additionally, using calming scents or gentle background noise can help soothe an anxious or clingy dog, making it easier for both of you to get a good night's rest. Remember, patience and consistency are key to balancing your bond while maintaining your sleep quality. Eventually, you’ll find a routine that keeps your Goldendoodle feeling safe and loved without turning bedtime into a wrestling match for space on the pillow!
