Shanghai Disneyland with young kids! 🏰✨

🔸 Booked our tickets via klook, it was fuss free, just had to scan and enter

🔸 I did not get fast passes but you can get those on klook too

🔸 I got the 2A1C bundle which is cheaper than buying separately. Also cheaper than buying directly from the Shanghai Disneyland app.

🔸 If you can, enter the park early when it opens to fully maximize your day. We brought 2 young kids so we only reached the park at 10am & we took 30min to enter.

🔸 The drive is about 30-45min from the city, depending on traffic

🔸 Food and water are allowed in the park. Pack a light breakfast along so you can eat and start queuing for rides when you enter.

🔸 There are drinking water dispensers near toilets

🔸 There is a baby changing corner in every toilet

🔸 The toilets are very clean and mostly squat ones, with only ~2 cubicles with toilet seats

🔸 Do bring a thicker jacket if you’re traveling during this time (Nov/Dec) as it gets really cold when the sun sets.

🔸 If you’re taking a DiDi, drop off location at Disneyland Metro Station exit 3 (迪士尼地铁站3号出站口)

🔸 Rent the strollers from the vendors outside the park (at the metro station exit) as they’re cheaper than renting inside! Made the best decision to rent a double stroller for 60RMB.

🔸 Download the Shanghai Disneyland app and plan ahead on which rides you wanna take. Popular rides can go up to 120mins & more.

🔸 If your ticket comes with a f&b coupon, you’ll have to scan your ticket with the SHDL app and redeem it from there

🔸 There are more f&b options at Disney Town (Cheesecake Factory, Ippudo etc) where you’ll have to exit the park and re-enter so always have your tickets with you

*Mickey’s friendship fare parade: 12:15pm (grab a spot 15 min early)

* Mickey’s Storybook Adventure: 1045, 1145, 1255, 1400, 1515, 1625, 1730

* Frozen Sing along show: 1315, 1400, 1445, 1530, 1630, 1715

* Fireworks: 2000 & 2115

🔸 Get a spot early for the fireworks show as the ushers will start cordoning off parts of the park at around 7pm

What we covered that day:

- Dumbo ride (50 min queue)

- Parade

- Mickey’s Storybook Adventure

- Lunch

- Snow White (5 min queue)

- Meet Princess Aurora at the gift store in the castle (20 min queue)

- Voyage to the Crystal Grotto (15 min queue)

- Met Rapunzel (20 min queue)

- Frozen Sing-Along show

- Dinner

- Met Mickey (20 min queue)

- Fireworks

🔸 After you exit the park, return the stroller then set DiDi pick up location at the same place as drop off.

Hope this post helps those of you who are heading there soon especially parents with children! ✨

... Read moreOne important aspect for families visiting Shanghai Disneyland is planning around your children's needs, especially with toddlers. Beyond the helpful tips about entry times and stroller rentals, I found it useful to consider the park’s child-friendly facilities. The consistent availability of baby changing corners and drinking water dispensers made managing young kids simpler throughout the day. When it comes to attractions, rides like Dumbo and Snow White are especially suited for toddlers, with manageable queue times and gentle thrills. Meeting princesses such as Aurora or Rapunzel adds a memorable touch; the queues are typically around 20 minutes, which is doable with patient little ones. Planning these meet-and-greets during less busy hours really helps avoid long waits. Food options inside the park cater mostly to kids, although prices are on the higher side. As shared, Disney Town nearby offers more variety, including familiar chains like Cheesecake Factory and Ippudo, but remember you will have to exit and re-enter the park. This is something to account for in your schedule to avoid missing popular shows or parades. Transportation tips such as using DiDi and knowing precise drop-off and pick-up points at the Disneyland Metro Station save considerable hassle. Renting a stroller outside the park, especially a double stroller if you have two young children, proved very economical and convenient for us. Finally, using the official Shanghai Disneyland app is essential to keep updated on wait times and redeem any food and beverage coupons attached to your tickets. Timing your visits to shows like Mickey’s Storybook Adventure and the Frozen Sing-Along can maximize your day’s experience. With a bit of planning and these insider tips, traveling with toddlers in Shanghai Disneyland can be a memorable and enjoyable experience for the whole family.
