Custom snake
This lovely specimen was a custom order. He was a large snake that I’ve had to process. So far, he’s been tedious but he’s been an absolute lesson on processing smaller animals vs the rabbits and deer that I’ve processed. I tried to dehydrate him and gave him to the beetles to clean. Well I had an issue with my beetles. For some reason I couldn’t keep the colony alive. Then I put him through a final cleaning process called maceration ( which is what I normally do with my other animals ) and that did the trick. But- I’ve had to completely articulate him. The skull fell apart and let me just say that I cannot express enough the amount of time it took to put JUST the skull back together. Anyway, here’s how it’s going now.
