Ive been following my instincts and doing my due diligence in raising my child and this is what I came up with - and if you’re doing the same - WELCOME ❤️ #motherhood
As a parent who has chosen to follow my instincts rather than conventional advice, I can say that embracing methods like co-sleeping, feeding on demand, and contact naps has deeply enriched our bonding experience. These choices resonate with a more intuitive style of parenting, which prioritizes responsiveness to your child's needs over rigid schedules. Co-sleeping, for instance, has allowed me to respond quickly to my baby's cues during the night, fostering a feeling of safety and nurturing. Similarly, feeding on demand means I trust my baby's hunger signals instead of following a predefined timetable, which has helped maintain a healthy milk supply and reduces stress for both of us. Contact naps might look like they interrupt productivity, but they offer crucial opportunities for connection and emotional regulation for my child. This approach aligns with what some describe as God’s design or natural parenting, emphasizing sensitivity and closeness. While these choices may diverge from mainstream parenting advice that promotes sleep training or strict schedules, the personal fulfillment and positive outcomes I've experienced are invaluable. I encourage other parents to tune into their instincts, gather information, and choose what feels right for their family. Remember, parenting is deeply personal, and it’s okay to prioritize love and connection above societal expectations.
