You really need to make sure those pots have good holes so roots don't get waterlogged, which can be a real killer for evergreens. I’m also planning on using a high-quality potting mix that’s well-draining but also retains some moisture, maybe even one with some slow-release fertilizer to keep them happy through the seasons. And in the colder months, I'm thinking about adding a layer of mulch or even wrapping the more exposed planters to protect the roots from extreme freezing. For those larger living wall panels, imagine a mix of different evergreen groundcovers, heucheras (coral bells) with their amazing foliage colors, or even some smaller-leaved ivies that can cascade beautifully. It's not just about green; some evergreens have beautiful variegated leaves or even a reddish tint that adds so much character and visual interest, making the front entrance feel thoughtful and cared for, no matter the season. The idea of having vibrant, grass-like plants or sturdy, green plants greeting visitors all year long is so appealing to me. I’m so excited about the idea of having that constant pop of fresh greenery. It completely solves my worry about the planters looking empty in winter, and frankly, who doesn't love a low-maintenance plant that looks good all year?
