Things my baby hates
Can you relate? #Lemon8Diary #unfiltered #sahmlife #momlife #relatable
Oh, the joys and challenges of parenting! One thing I've found incredibly relatable with other parents is discovering the quirky, sometimes baffling, things our babies just *can't stand*. It's like they have their own little list of pet peeves, and let me tell you, my little one has quite a few! First up on the list of my baby's dislikes is the dreaded car stopping on a red light. You know the drill: you're cruising along, baby is happily dozing or looking around, and then BAM! A sudden halt. My little one reacts as if the world has ended, often with a startled cry or a furrowed brow. I've learned to anticipate these stops and sometimes try to gently apply the brakes or make a silly sound to distract him. It's truly amazing how sensitive they are to motion changes! Then there's the monumental task of trying new food. Oh, the faces! One minute they're curious, the next it's a full-blown dramatic performance. It's not just the taste; I think it's often the texture, the surprise, or even just the unfamiliarity. I've found that patience is key here. Offering a tiny bit, not forcing it, and sometimes mixing it with something they already like can help. Sometimes, simply seeing me eat it with enthusiasm makes a difference. It’s a messy, but often funny, journey of discovery. And let's not forget the shock of when cold water touches his skin. Bath time can be a delicate operation! I've learned the hard way that even a slightly cooler splash can lead to protests. Now, I'm extra careful to ensure the bathwater is just right and that I warm up the washcloths a little. A warm towel ready for immediate snuggles afterwards also seems to help soothe any chilly surprises. Their little bodies are so much more sensitive than ours, aren't they? Beyond these specific moments, I've also noticed other common baby dislikes that often pop up. Loud, sudden noises can be a huge trigger – a dropped pan, a barking dog, or even a sneeze can send them into a temporary frenzy. It’s a good reminder to keep the environment calm when possible. Diaper changes, especially when those cold wipes hit their skin, can also be met with resistance. Warm wipes are a game-changer for many parents! Being overtired is another big one. Sometimes, no matter what you do, if they've missed that sleep window, everything becomes a reason to fuss. Learning their sleep cues has been essential for preventing these meltdowns. And of course, there's the universal dislike of being left alone, even if it's just for a second to grab something. They just want to be close! Certain clothing textures or tags can also be surprisingly irritating for some babies, leading to unexplained fussiness. It's all part of the wild ride of having a baby. Every day is a lesson in understanding their unique preferences and sensitivities. While it can be challenging, these little dislikes also highlight their developing personalities and how they perceive the world around them. What are some of the funny or frustrating things your baby dislikes? I'd love to hear your experiences and tips!
