To the man I miss the most. Year 2 I don’t get to make that phone call. I miss you so much but I know you are so proud of me!! #parentloss #grief #fypシ
Losing a parent is one of the most profound sorrows one can face, and marking the second year without him brings a mix of emotions that are hard to express. From my experience, grief doesn't have a set timeline; it ebbs and flows, sometimes unexpectedly. Celebrating small victories, like knowing he would be proud, can offer moments of comfort amidst the pain. I found that keeping memories alive through photos, like those captured on Kodak Portra 400 film—his favorite—helps maintain a tangible connection to him. They remind me of the love and strength he embodied, truly my superhero in life. It's also important to allow yourself space for grief, whether through talking with others who understand parent loss, joining support groups, or expressing your feelings through writing or creativity. Each step forward honors their memory and helps heal. In sharing this, I hope those who navigate similar journeys know they’re not alone. Grief may change over time, but the love and pride we carry for our parents never wane.
