The IVF counselling | Gen Prime

No regrets choosing the private route for IVF as the whole thing is so time sensitive and it’s like buying that piece of mind , even though it’s pricey.

I have been with Dr Jessie Phoon from STOG practice who also does the IVF at Gen Prime located in Camden Medical .

After two failed IUIs, it’s time toe consider IVF. Having a nice calm space to actually do the counselling with a tour after makes a big difference .

The counselling was done by senior nurse Karen Dizon, love her so welcoming and patient cos hubs have to be FaceTime from the US. After all the technicalities , the second half of the interview would be done by the head embryologist Lyn who really put your mind at ease on what is to come and the whole process .

Going into it , your mind is already in fight or flight so knowing that there are a good group of ppl helping you with it makes a lot of difference .

Not too much codling but just the right dose of assurance . Whole procedure from 21k-28k with 6k from Medisave and option of IVF or ICSI and also ps : embryo glue .

When facing fertility treatments like IVF, uncertainty and anxiety often dominate your thoughts. At GenPrime Fertility, the calm counselling space helped me ground my emotions and prepare mentally for the treatment ahead. The involvement of experienced professionals like senior nurse Karen Dizon and head embryologist Lyn was reassuring, especially when my partner had to join sessions remotely via FaceTime. Their clear explanations on procedures and what to expect alleviated much of my apprehension and provided a sense of partnership rather than going through it alone. Financial aspects of IVF can be overwhelming, but knowing about the approximate cost and available support such as the Medisave subsidies ranging from SGD 6,000 made it easier to plan. The option to consider advanced techniques like ICSI and the use of embryo glue also stood out as potential choices, tailored to increase success rates. From my experience, private IVF routes offer significant peace of mind despite higher costs due to shorter waiting times and personalized care. The 'Ova-Achiever' mindset—focused, informed, and hopeful—became a daily affirmation for me, reminding me that choosing the right clinic and counselling support is a vital part of the IVF journey. For anyone navigating similar fertility challenges, I highly recommend taking time to visit your chosen clinic, ask detailed questions, and ensure the support network is compassionate and knowledgeable. It truly makes a difference in managing the emotional ups and downs along the path to parenthood.
