نقص من عقله
Imam Ali, revered as Amir al-Mu'minin and a central figure in Shia Islam, emphasized the profound effect that our social circles have on our intellectual and spiritual well-being. The saying "Whoever associates with the ignorant, a defect is found in his mind" highlights a timeless truth about the importance of surrounding oneself with knowledgeable and wise individuals. In my personal experience, I have observed how spending time with thoughtful and educated friends has encouraged my own learning and critical thinking. Conversely, I have seen how relationships with those who disregard knowledge can lead to missed opportunities for personal growth and insight. This tradition aligns well with Quranic principles, which advocate seeking knowledge and wisdom as a path to spiritual and worldly success. It also resonates with the teachings of the Ahlulbayt, who are guides toward deeper understanding and moral development. In today’s world, where information is abundant and easily accessible, the quality of the company one keeps is more crucial than ever. Choosing companions who inspire, challenge, and support intellectual development can significantly contribute to maintaining and expanding one’s intellect, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
