While defeating Vaatu was a monumental triumph, his initial mistake of inadvertently releasing Vaatu reminds us that groundbreaking actions can have complex repercussions. His diplomatic efforts were vital in preventing conflicts, and his friendship with Fire Lord Sozin was initially a beacon of hope. However, his ultimate inaction against Sozin's aggression, fueled by a desire to preserve that friendship, directly led to the catastrophic 100 Year War.
