Shiny Nosepass & Probopass WITHOUT Herba Mystica!✨

... Read moreOkay, so I just HAVE to share my latest shiny hunting adventure in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet! You know how everyone always talks about needing Herba Mystica for shiny sandwiches? Well, I managed to snag both a shiny Nosepass AND a shiny Probopass without using a single one! It felt so rewarding, and I wanted to walk you through exactly how I did it, especially for those of you looking for Nosepass in Pokémon Violet. First off, the secret sauce (pun intended!) is making your own sandwiches. The images mentioned "Create your own sandwich" and "Recipe Mode" – this is key! For Nosepass, you'll want to boost your Rock-type encounter power. I focused on making a sandwich that gave me 'Encounter Power: Rock Lv.2'. A simple recipe I used involved ingredients like Pickles and Ham with a Salty Herba Mystica substitute (like salty ingredients from delis, or even just using a lot of salty seasonings if you're experimenting with custom recipes). There are tons of recipes online that don't require Herba Mystica but still give you Level 2 encounter power for specific types. Just play around in 'Recipe Mode' to find what works for you to get that Rock Encounter Power. This significantly increases your chances of seeing Nosepass in the wild. Now, where to find these magnetic little guys? For Nosepass, I had the most luck in the East Province (Area Two), specifically around the rocky areas and cliffs. You'll often see them just chilling there. They're not super rare, which makes the hunt a bit easier once you have your Rock Encounter Power sandwich active. I spent about an hour or so in that area, cycling through spawns, and eventually, my shiny Nosepass popped up! It was such a thrill seeing that slightly different shade. Once you have your shiny Nosepass, the next step is evolving it into a shiny Probopass! This is super straightforward. All you need to do is level up your Nosepass while it's in an area with a special magnetic field. In Paldea, the easiest and most reliable place for this is Area Zero. Just take your shiny Nosepass into Area Zero, battle a few Pokémon or use an Exp. Candy to level it up, and watch it evolve right before your eyes! Seeing "Congratulations! Your Nosepass evolved" into a beautiful shiny Probopass was definitely a highlight of my shiny hunting journey. And for those wondering about battling Probopass, like "what is effective against Probopass" – since it's a Rock/Steel type, it’s quite weak to Fighting and Ground-type moves. Water-type moves are also super effective. So if you ever encounter one in a raid or need to catch a non-shiny one, bring along a strong Iron Hands or a powerful Ground-type attacker! My best advice for anyone trying this hunt: be patient, make sure you have that Rock Encounter Power sandwich active, and enjoy the process. It's incredibly satisfying to get these shinies without relying on rare ingredients. Happy hunting, trainers!
