No bullying!! Honest Confusion.

What’s up with so many accounts on here faking pregnancies? It’s not even believable lies either! I can’t fathom why people would make such posts beyond being attention hungry. The point of this post is to spread awareness especially for those who would become too emotionally attached to these posts without knowing the truth.

If they notice little interaction/belief, they will post about being five weeks pregnant, 18 weeks pregnant, or 24 weeks pregnant back to back. The account shown (lemon1134032550) is one of the rare ones where they try to make a consistent timeline…It is inevitable that they will use maternity pictures from Pinterest to back up their stories.

Don't even get me started on those poorly written birth stories that sound like they were written by a preteen! The fake accounts normally don't bother me, but I've come across an increasing amount where users claim they just miscarried, but a day later post that they are 39 weeks pregnant at 15 and engaged.

It’s sad when people who’ve experienced genuine losses extend compassion to these liars. I don’t intend any ill will towards these accounts (the one shown is just one of many fake pregnancy accounts), but I do hope they stop lying. And more often than not fellow fake pregnancy users support them in comments to deter others from questioning the validity. #attentiontodetail #fakepregnancy #fakeaccount

... Read moreIn recent years, the rise of fake pregnancy accounts on social media has sparked concern among users. These accounts often craft elaborate stories about pregnancies, utilizing images sourced from platforms like Pinterest, which only adds to the deception. For those who have experienced real pregnancy challenges, such instances can be particularly hurtful. Many people emotionally invest in these narratives, believing them to be true, which can lead to significant distress, especially among those dealing with issues like infertility or miscarriage. Moreover, the motivations behind these accounts vary. Some users may be seeking attention or validation, while others might engage in this behavior as a misguided attempt at community building. This emphasizes the need for users to question the authenticity of what they encounter online. Experts suggest that awareness and education about these trends are vital. Audience members should be encouraged to look for inconsistencies and to critically evaluate the content they consume. Engaging with support networks can also provide emotional safety for those affected by these deceitful narratives. As more individuals express concern over this trend, discussions surrounding authenticity and mental health in social media are becoming increasingly important. Ultimately, fostering a digital environment that values honesty and compassion is essential for all users.

it’s actually crazy because the beach photo on the second slide I am 99% sure is a photo of an influencer I follow when she was pregnant with her daughter (& spoiler alert her name isn’t Jade)
