Growing up, I often felt the pressure to conform and blend in, dimming my true self to avoid standing out or causing discomfort to others. It wasn’t until I explored my faith more deeply that I realized God’s plan isn’t for us to hide our unique gifts and light, but to shine brightly and influence the world around us positively. The verse from Matthew 5:14, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden," has been a powerful reminder that our individuality—our so-called 'God-colors'—is intentional and necessary. In my own journey, embracing my vibrant personality and my joy has led to a healing process that has allowed me to grow in confidence and spiritual fulfillment. I’ve learned that the very traits I once thought were too much are actually exactly what God wants me to use to inspire others. This journey requires courage, especially when societal norms encourage conformity, but the reward is a deeper connection to God and a more authentic way of living. If you’re someone who feels like they don’t quite fit in, know that this is part of the divine design. Each of us brings something unique to the table that can illuminate our communities and strengthen our shared faith.
