Full Review:

This book…I don’t know where to start. Actually, yes I do. I threw this book. I didn’t even want to finish out of spite after reaching a certain moment. I did finish it of course. And I feel like I should know that this is what RY is going to do. She’s good at heartbreak and making readers feel. I laughed, smiled, groaned with frustration, cried and straight up bawled. I knew about needing tissues going in, but that one last moment was so uncalled for. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Definitely wish I could read it for the first time again. I definitely recommend.

I would also recommend looking up the trigger warnings. It does deal with childhood cancer/loss/family loss, etc..

Another solid read from RY. Can’t wait to read more of her books.

... Read moreReading 'The Last Letter' is an emotionally immersive experience that resonated profoundly with me. Rebecca Yarros crafts a narrative that combines poignant themes like childhood cancer and family loss with deeply human moments of love and heartbreak. What struck me most was the author's ability to evoke a wide range of emotions—from laughter to tears—making it impossible to remain indifferent. The book’s impact lingered long after I finished reading it, pushing me to reflect on the fragility of life and the enduring power of love. One aspect worth noting is the emotional intensity of the story; preparing yourself for the trigger warnings is essential. The raw portrayal of grief and resilience can be challenging, yet it fosters a genuine connection to the characters’ journeys. The author’s skillful storytelling ensured that each twist felt authentic, even when it was difficult to face. This blend of realism and emotion is what makes the book so compelling and memorable. Fans of heartfelt contemporary romance or literary fiction dealing with tough themes will appreciate 'The Last Letter'. It’s a reminder that stories about pain can also hold hope, and that sometimes the most devastating moments in fiction teach us the most about empathy and strength. For anyone looking to experience a book that truly moves you, this one is highly recommended. I found myself wishing I could revisit it with the freshness of a first read, a testament to its profound emotional impact.
