Book: The Last Letter by @rebeccayarros

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️

Full Review:

This book…I don’t know where to start. Actually, yes I do. I threw this book. I didn’t even want to finish out of spite after reaching a certain moment. I did finish it of course. And I feel like I should know that this is what RY is going to do. She’s good at heartbreak and making readers feel. I laughed, smiled, groaned with frustration, cried and straight up bawled. I knew about needing tissues going in, but that one last moment was so uncalled for. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Definitely wish I could read it for the first time again. I definitely recommend.

I would also recommend looking up the trigger warnings. It does deal with childhood cancer/loss/family loss, etc..

Another solid read from RY. Can’t wait to read more of her books.

... Read moreIf you've been seeing 'The Last Letter' by Rebecca Yarros pop up on your TikTok feed, there's a reason for all the hype! This isn't just another romance; it's a profound journey that delves deep into the human heart. Rebecca Yarros, a #1 New York Times bestselling author, truly outdid herself with this one. My initial review was raw with emotion, but I wanted to share more about why this book hits so hard and why you absolutely need to pick it up. Let's talk about the cover first – how gorgeous is that teal landscape? It hints at so much serenity and yet, beneath it, lies a story of immense pain and resilience. And the dog tag? It's such a poignant symbol that ties into the characters' lives and the sacrifices they make. It’s these little details, even on the book cover itself, that set the tone for the powerful narrative within. Seeing the 'AS SEEN ON TIKTOK' stamp truly highlights its widespread appeal. Beyond the aesthetics, what truly makes 'The Last Letter' unforgettable is its unflinching look at difficult themes. As I mentioned, it deals with childhood cancer, loss, and the enduring strength of family love. It's not an easy read, but it's incredibly rewarding. Yarros has this incredible ability to make you feel every single emotion alongside her characters. You'll find yourself investing so deeply in their struggles and triumphs. The handwritten book review I saw online also captured this intense emotional reaction perfectly. The 'AS SEEN ON TIKTOK' label isn't just a marketing gimmick here; it's a testament to how universally impactful this story is. Readers connect with the raw honesty and the heart-wrenching beauty of finding hope amidst tragedy. If you're wondering if Rebecca Yarros's other works are similar, her writing consistently explores deep emotional connections and often includes military themes, which might explain the dog tag imagery here too. This book definitely showcases her talent for crafting stories that stay with you long after the last page. So, if you're ready for a book that will challenge your emotions and leave a lasting impression, 'The Last Letter' is your next read. It's a testament to love, resilience, and the power of human connection, even in the face of unimaginable sorrow. Trust me, it's worth every tear.
