Hey Book Besties
Sorry for not being too active this week. I haven’t even really been reading this week either. I caught something and have not been feeling the greatest 🤧. But today, my little one was coloring and I decided to color along with her. I cracked open my Romantasy coloring book and some crayons too.
I’m having some hot lemon tea that is somewhat soothing my throat (honestly everything I’m trying for my sore throat is very temporary in helping, but it still feels good lol), got some coloring in, now to make some dinner and chill the rest of the evening. Well, chill as much as a toddler will allow. I am her unwavering servant after all 🤪
When I'm feeling rundown, simple comforts like hot lemon tea become my go-to remedy for easing a sore throat, even if the relief feels fleeting. I find that pairing these little wellness rituals with creative activities, like coloring in a Romantasy-themed book, can significantly lift my mood. The vibrant colors from my box of 96 crayons, especially shades like wild blue yonder and azul clelo, seem to breathe life into the pages and bring a calming effect. Sharing these moments with my toddler adds another layer of joy. Coloring alongside her not only strengthens our bond but also distracts from feeling unwell. Toddlers have endless energy, and sometimes being their 'unwavering servant' means embracing a slower, more mindful pace for the day. This blend of caring for myself while engaging in nurturing time with my child creates a balance that can surprisingly boost recovery. If you’re also navigating sickness while parenting or taking care of little ones, remember it's okay to slow down and incorporate small, soothing activities that bring happiness. From sipping warm lemon tea to coloring with your favorite crayons, these simple acts can make tough days feel a bit brighter and more bearable.
