Hey Book Besties!!
I am playing catch up. I was supposed to post this review last week, but…well ya know.
I read both of these books and decided to do a full review in one for them!
With that being said, its time for a sparkle✨ BOOK REVIEW sparkle✨ (or in this case, a Duology Review 🤪)
Books: Where Memories Lie and All That Was Written by @authorirenelee (The Inheritance Duology)
Rating: 4 ⭐️
So honestly, when I came across this author, they were offering something different than my normal pace in terms of books. I am so glad I found Irene Lee honestly!
I was able to join her Street Team and she was so kind to send me both of her books and I enjoyed them so much!!!
You don’t need to read these books in order or together, but the first book did set up the characters for me. So I am so glad I read the first book.
There is mystery, thrill, I gasped some gusps quite a few times. I became easily invested in both stories and i love when books can suck me in like that. Alex and Elias quickly claimed a little place in my heart and I thoroughly enjoyed their friendship. Also loved Abby and Emily helping save the day in the second book.
I really wanna talk about major scenes but i also dont want to give anything away. If you love thrillers and magic and urban fantasy, pick up these books of these FBI agents with powers and read the darn things. They sucked me in and they will hopefully suck you in just the same.

Diving deeper into Irene Lee’s Inheritance Duology, I found the blend of urban fantasy and thriller elements skillfully woven to create a compelling narrative that keeps readers hooked from start to finish. What stands out most is the unique integration of FBI agents endowed with supernatural abilities, which adds a fresh twist to the typical crime and mystery genre. From a reader’s perspective, the character development is particularly strong. Alex and Elias, the main protagonists, offer a refreshing portrayal of camaraderie and resilience that many readers can relate to. Their journey through shadowy conspiracies and magical threats feels authentic, largely because the author balances fantastical elements with human emotions and struggles. Moreover, the secondary characters like Abby and Emily contribute significantly to the story's depth, providing not only support but also moments of levity and heroism. This inclusive character dynamic enriches the duology and invites readers to become emotionally invested. I also appreciated how the storyline does not require a strict reading order. While the first book, 'Where Memories Lie,' sets the foundation, 'All That Was Written' can stand on its own, allowing flexibility for readers who may wish to experience one book before diving into the other. This approach makes the duology accessible to a broader audience. The intrigue and suspense elements are well-crafted, prompting several moments where I genuinely gasped in surprise. Often, urban fantasy can lean heavily into either magic or mystery, but Irene Lee’s work offers a balanced hybrid that appeals to both thrill-seekers and fantasy lovers alike. For anyone craving a break from conventional fantasy or parody of detective stories, these books provide a welcome change with rich lore and fast-paced action. The atmosphere of the series evokes a modern world shadowed by secrets and ancient powers, making the reading experience immersive and memorable. In conclusion, Irene Lee successfully delivers a duology that captivates through its strong characters, compelling plots, and imaginative settings. It's a perfect recommendation for fans of urban fantasy and supernatural thrillers looking for a new series to enjoy. I highly encourage picking up 'Where Memories Lie' and 'All That Was Written' to experience a story that truly sparkles with excitement and mystery.
