Book: The Never List by @jadepresleyauthor

Rating: 4.5 ⭐️

It took me a good minute to sit my butt down and actually read this book after I had started it. I’m glad I finally did because I read pretty much the whole thing in two days. This book suckered me right in. Rylee is awesome, says what she wants, and isn’t timid. Each of the Princes wormed their way in and I was connected to all of them in different ways. Their fathers on the other hand? They can leave lmao. The magical world design is a mix of fantasy and real world I would say. The magical system is cool. This is a found family, why choose romantasy, but the spice doesn’t overpower the plot. I honestly think it was a pretty good balance. I’m sitting here waiting for the day I can get my hands on book two because after that ending, I need to know what happens next.

Is this book on your TBR??

... Read moreAfter reading 'The Never List,' I found myself reflecting on the intricate world-building that Jade Presley achieved, creating a seamless blend of fantasy elements with relatable real-world struggles. What stands out most is how the protagonist, Rylee, breaks the mold of typical heroines—her boldness and candid nature make her instantly relatable and refreshing. The dynamic between the Princes adds depth to the story, each representing different facets of loyalty, courage, and vulnerability, which kept me emotionally invested. I appreciated how the magic system isn't just a backdrop but deeply integrated into the plot and character development, creating a rich, immersive experience. One aspect that resonated with me was the theme of found family. This undercurrent of forming bonds beyond blood ties adds emotional gravity and warmth to the narrative without overshadowing the romantasy elements. The balance between romance and fantasy was masterfully maintained, so neither felt overpowering. Given the intriguing cliffhanger ending, I am eagerly awaiting the sequel to see how the story unfolds, especially how Rylee navigates the challenges ahead. For anyone who enjoys fantasy with strong female leads and a sprinkle of romance, this book is an excellent addition to your reading list. Also, the phrase spotted in the review’s image, "Why choose one when you...", hints at the theme of embracing complexity and not limiting oneself—a philosophy that The Never List embodies beautifully through its characters and plot choices. This subtle message adds an extra layer of meaning to the reading experience. Overall, "The Never List" offers a compelling journey that keeps you hooked from start to finish, with characters and a story that linger in your mind long after the last page.
