Starting a BookTube channel has been an exciting and nerve-wracking experience for me. I’ve always loved sharing my thoughts about books in writing and on social media, but recording videos felt like a whole new challenge. It took some time to gather the courage to press the record button because filming puts you literally in front of people, which is much more personal and vulnerable than typing a post or review. One thing I learned quickly is that it’s perfectly normal to feel anxious at first. Many creators, even those who seem confident, feel nervous when starting. The key is to embrace the discomfort and keep going because it gets easier each time you make a video. I found that focusing on my love of books and wanting to connect with other book lovers helped me push through the anxiety. Creating content around #booktube and #currentreads gives me a way to be part of a wonderful community that inspires and motivates me. Watching other BookTubers and their genuine passion made me realize that authenticity resonates the most. So, I try to be myself, sharing honest opinions and fun moments rather than striving for perfection. Also, interacting with viewers has been such a fulfilling part of this journey. Comments and feedback make it feel like a real conversation, and that sense of community is very rewarding. I encourage anyone thinking of starting a BookTube channel or any creative project to take the leap. It may feel scary, but the growth and connections you gain are worth it.
