Mashed Potato Casserole with Sautéed Meat
One of the most loved meals at home, and I highly recommend this delicious mashed potato and meat sauté recipe!
Ingredients
For the mashed potatoes:
* 5 large potatoes
* 1 heaping tablespoon butter
* 1 small bowl grated mozzarella or Kashar cheese
* Salt
For the meat sauté:
* 500 g diced meat (I used turkey breast)
* 1 onion, diced
* 2 green peppers, sliced
* 1 red bell pepper, sliced
* 1 garlic clove, minced
* 2 grated tomatoes (or canned tomatoes)
* 1 teaspoon tomato paste
* Salt, black pepper, and paprika
For the topping:
* Grated mozzarella or Kashar cheese
Instructions
1. Boil the potatoes until tender and place them in a baking dish.
2. Add the butter, grated cheese, and salt. Mash until smooth, then spread evenly in the baking dish, pressing it down gently.
3. For the sauté, heat a little oil in a pan and cook the meat until lightly browned.
4. Add the onion, peppers, and garlic, and sauté until softened.
5. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another minute.
6. Add the grated tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Let everything cook until the sauce thickens.
7. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the mashed potatoes.
8. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
9. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
