Little kitty, big city

Okay, so like many of you, I just had to talk about the 'Local Celebrity' achievement in Little Kitty, Big City! Seriously, if you're aiming for that sweet 100% completion like I did (and finally got all 39 achievements!), this one is probably going to be your biggest hurdle. I spent a good chunk of my nearly 24 hours of total time played (yes, 0d 23h 50m, according to my Game Pass stats!) just wandering around, hoping to get those elusive photo ops. It’s the kind of achievement that doesn't really have a clear-cut 'strategy,' which can be incredibly frustrating for us completionists. The concept is deceptively simple: you need to get 10 different NPCs to take your picture. But the execution? Oh boy. It feels like the game expects you to stumble upon these moments rather than actively pursue them. I found myself pacing back and forth in certain high-traffic areas, particularly around the city center, the busy market stalls, and the docks where more people gather. My 'strategy' (if you can even call it that!) became a mix of patience and observation. Whenever I spotted an NPC with a camera icon above their head, I’d immediately try to get close, perform a cute pose, or just generally make myself visible in their line of sight. Sometimes it worked instantly, sometimes they’d just walk past, completely oblivious to my feline charm, which felt like a personal snub from a virtual human! One frustrating aspect is that the game doesn't seem to have a consistent trigger for these photo opportunities. It's not like you can do X, Y, and Z, and *bam*, photo taken. It feels much more randomized and dependent on NPC pathing and awareness. I did notice – and this might just be my personal superstition, or perhaps a glimmer of game logic – that certain actions seemed to attract attention more. Knocking things over, chasing pigeons (classic cat behavior!), pouncing on objects, or even just sitting elegantly on a bench in a prominent spot. It almost felt like being a bit mischievous or just overtly 'cat-like' sometimes increased the chances. I even tried sleeping in the middle of a busy sidewalk a few times, just to see what would happen! Don't expect a quick guide or a magic bullet for this one; it's truly a test of endurance. You just have to keep interacting with the world, exploring every nook and cranny, and eventually, those photo opportunities will pop up. It’s a grind, no doubt about it, and it definitely feels like one of the less polished aspects of an otherwise delightful experience. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to not focus only on this achievement. Try to weave it into your general exploration and questing. That way, you're not just mindlessly wandering, and each photo you get feels like a bonus rather than an agonizingly slow step towards 100%. It's a bittersweet feeling, really. On one hand, it’s frustratingly slow, making you question if you're doing something wrong or if the game is bugged. On the other hand, when that achievement finally unlocks, there’s a genuine sense of relief and accomplishment, especially when you're going for the full 1000/1000 Gamerscore and seeing '39/39 Achievements' proudly displayed. For a game that’s otherwise so charming, relaxing, and full of purr-fect moments, this achievement adds an unexpected layer of grind. If you're playing through Game Pass and just enjoying the story, don't let this particular achievement stress you out. But if you're a completionist like me, just brace yourself for some extensive cat-walking and a lot of patience! It's absolutely worth it in the end for that glorious 100% completion badge.
