Meet Dovie
Say hello to Dovie, my almost 3 year old labradoodle.
She is my best friend. I’m a stay at home mom now, so we spend our days together.
When Dovie was a baby, she was at Petland. I never would have thought I’d buy a dog from them, but they were the cheapest and closest place to buy bird food. Every time I would go to buy food for my birds, I would see her in that tiny cage, growing bigger and sadder, her price marked further down.
Eventually, I told my husband that I would stop bothering him for a baby if he helped me get her out of there. She was 5 months old when she was freed.
A year later, our local petland closed 💕
Dovie is not just a pet; she's a family member who brings joy and companionship. Labradoodles are known for their friendly nature and intelligence, making them great family pets. They thrive on attention and love outdoor activities, which is perfect for an active lifestyle. When considering adopting a dog, it’s important to visit shelters and rescue organizations, as many wonderful dogs are waiting for forever homes. Additionally, ensuring proper training and socialization helps foster a strong bond and reduces behavioral issues. The process of finding Dovie was unexpected but filled with love. I wanted to highlight that adopting from places like Petland can have mixed reviews; while some pets find loving homes, others may not receive the best care. Therefore, research and community feedback are crucial. Let's celebrate all the beautiful stories of pet adoption and the unconditional love our furry friends provide. They truly enhance our lives!
