100 Laps Down! 🏊♀️💪🙏
Gliding through the pool today, I couldn't help but laugh thinking about my "training" as a 5-year-old. Before I was doing 20 laps a day, I was the "scapegoat" on my sister's secret dates - once getting dumped by a massive wave at Manly Beach and falling right through my floaty ring!
Back then, I was flailing and being bribed with McDonald's to keep the secret Today, I'm swimming with a bit more grace (and a lot more purpose) to help bring some light to the brave kids supported by Starlight.
From "disgusting" movie scenes to 100 laps of love. We keep moving.
Swimming has always been more than just physical exercise for me; it's a journey filled with memories and meaning. Reflecting on the time I spent as a child, struggling to stay afloat and getting caught in waves at Manly Beach, I never imagined that swimming could one day become a symbol of love and commitment. Completing 100 laps not only boosted my endurance but also deepened my purpose—supporting children who face extraordinary challenges through the Starlight Foundation. This organization is dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families by providing emotional and practical support. In training for these laps, I noticed how swimming teaches resilience and patience. Every stroke forward reminded me of the strength needed to overcome life's waves, just like those brave kids supported by Starlight. Setting small goals, celebrating each milestone, and pushing through discomfort became a metaphor for personal growth. If you're inspired to turn your passions into actions for good, consider how your hobbies can support causes close to your heart. Whether it’s swimming, running, or any activity, dedicating your efforts to something meaningful can make the experience even more fulfilling. The hashtags #LapsForLight and #100Laps symbolize more than just distance—they represent hope, endurance, and community. By sharing stories and challenges, we can encourage others to join the movement, turning individual efforts into collective impact. Remember, what starts as a personal challenge can blossom into a beacon of light for others. Keep moving forward with intention and heart, just like swimming lap after lap—each one bringing you closer to your goal and to making a difference in the lives of others.
