My Reading Status Right Now 📖

A little reader check-in!

Here’s where I’m at right now in my reading life:

•Last Read: Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Honestly, no explanation. I would read a paper napkin with pride if she wrote on one.

•Current Read: Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes. Shonda’s honesty is refreshing and feels like I’m given permission to feel! It’s also the kind of book that makes you rethink how often you say no to opportunities!

•Next Read: The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker. Been on my TBR for a while so I’m diving in!

•Best Read (So Far): My current and last read are extremely close contenders but best read so far had to be The Mad Wife by Meagan Church. It’s powerful, emotional, and one of the stories that lingers long after you finish the last page!

I love doing these because my reading mood changes constantly and it’s fun to see how the month evolves.

Now I’m curious…

What’s your:

• Last read

• Current read

• Next read

• Best read of the month so far?

Tell me in the comments so I can add to my TBR!

... Read moreSharing personal updates about what I've been reading is one of my favorite ways to connect with fellow book lovers and keep my reading list fresh and exciting. Lately, diving into Taylor Jenkins Reid's "Carrie Soto is Back" reminded me why she's a standout author—the emotional depth and compelling characters make her stories impossible to put down. Currently, I'm immersed in Shonda Rhimes's "Year of Yes," which has been a revelation. Shonda's raw honesty about saying yes to life’s opportunities challenges me to rethink my own hesitation toward new experiences. The book feels like a permission slip to embrace vulnerability, which can be transformative not only for readers but anyone looking to break old patterns. Looking ahead, "The Simple Wild" by K.A. Tucker is next on my list. It's one I've been eager to read based on friends' recommendations, anticipating its blend of heartfelt emotion and scenic storytelling. One of the most memorable reads I've had this month is "The Mad Wife" by Meagan Church. Its power lies in its emotional resonance, haunting me long after I turned the last page. This book is a testament to how fiction can deeply impact us, weaving stories that linger in our thoughts. Keeping a dynamic reading journal like this not only tracks my progress but invites an ongoing dialogue. I love hearing what others are reading because it broadens my TBR (To Be Read) and introduces me to new perspectives and genres. Whether it's fiction, memoir, or self-help, each book has a unique lesson or story that enriches my understanding of the world. If you're looking to refresh your reading habits, I recommend mixing genres and including books that challenge your usual preferences. Sometimes, stepping outside your comfort zone can reveal surprising favorites. Also, engaging with reading communities online or in-person adds a wonderful social layer to the solitary act of reading. So, what have you been reading lately? Sharing your last read, current book, next pick, and best find this month can inspire us all—drop your favorites, and let’s keep our reading adventures thriving together!

Last read: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid ... this book made me bawl, so I had to put the book I was planning to read aside to read for something funnier and more lighthearted. Current: Carl's Doomsday Scenerio by Matt Dinniman... I think I have found a new genre of book, since reading the first one I have TBR'd a few more LitRPG books Next: Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E Schwab ... for a book club, the sample I listened to sounded interesting, so I hope it holds up to expectation. Best so Far: so far it is hard to decide there was The Five, the Bear and the Nightingale, the Original Sins or my last read Atmosphere. They were all so good and each had something different to give.
