The Books I’m Still Thinking About This Month

Some books are good while you’re reading them… and some stay with you long after you turn the last page.

These two reads from this month completely stuck with me:

••The Mad Wife by Meagan Church

A haunting historical story about survival, resilience, and the complicated realities women faced in another time. This one lingered with me emotionally long after I finished it.

••Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid

A fierce, ambitious comeback story about legacy, determination, and what it really takes to be the best. Carrie Soto is such a complex character and I couldn’t stop thinking about her drive.

Both very different stories… but both unforgettable in their own way.

Now I’m curious…What’s a book you read recently that you still can’t stop thinking about?

... Read moreReading books that stay with you long after you've finished them can be a truly transformative experience. I’ve found that books like The Mad Wife and Carrie Soto Is Back not only offer engrossing narratives but also invite deep reflection on broader themes like resilience and ambition. For instance, Meagan Church’s historical novel vividly portrays the challenges women faced in a harsh era, which reminded me of the importance of acknowledging historical struggles when considering modern gender issues. Similarly, Taylor Jenkins Reid’s character Carrie Soto struck me as a powerful depiction of determination that resonates with anyone who has chased a dream relentlessly, despite setbacks. What I appreciated most was how these stories encouraged me to think about personal drive and legacy beyond the usual sports or career contexts — it felt very human and relatable. Books that linger have a way of influencing our thoughts and conversations later on, much like how these two titles prompted me to re-examine qualities like courage and perseverance in everyday life. I’d love to hear about the books you’ve read recently that continue to echo in your mind. Sharing those stories can enrich our reading community and inspire us all to find more narratives that leave a lasting imprint.
