Reading Check-In: Last, Current, Favorite, Next

A little reading life update.

Last read, current reads, my favorite so far, and what’s (hopefully) next. The Seven Year Slip is still holding strong as my top read of the month, and honestly, it set the bar high.

I’m currently juggling a couple of reads while I wait (impatiently) for Heart the Lover on Libby—I’m second in line, so at least there’s progress.

This is your reminder that reading seasons ebb and flow, and sometimes the waitlist is part of the journey.

What’s your current read right now?

... Read moreAs an avid reader, I often find that my reading tastes and pace change with time and mood, much like a seasonal cycle. For example, while ‘The Seven Year Slip’ set a high bar as my favorite read this month, balancing multiple books at once keeps my reading routine fresh and exciting. Waiting for popular titles like ‘Heart the Lover’ on the Libby app can be a test of patience, but it adds anticipation and a sense of community through shared reading experiences on waitlists. Juggling current reads helps me absorb different genres and writing styles simultaneously, enriching my understanding and appreciation of literature. I also find that sharing updates, such as last, current, and next reads, connects me to other book lovers and sparks meaningful conversations. This cyclical approach to reading reflects how life’s rhythms influence our habits – sometimes fast, sometimes slow, but always rewarding. If you’re using Libby or similar digital library apps, I recommend embracing the waitlist as part of your reading journey instead of a hindrance. It often encourages exploring other books you might not have considered otherwise. So, whether you’re a steady reader or someone who reads in bursts, remember that every book you pick up adds to your unique literary adventure. What’s your current read? Feel free to share and join the dialogue about last, current, and next favorites.
