My Progress So Far in Stardew Valley 🐔

My first steam of Stardew was so fun!! It was mostly about figuring out what the heck I was supposed to be doing. This past stream (part 2) went a lot better and we got a ton accomplished! Can’t wait for part 3 on Thursday! 🤍

It's a journey, right? You mentioned planting parsnips and greeting people – those are fantastic first steps! When I first started, I was so focused on getting my farm organized. I quickly learned that balancing farming with exploring and meeting villagers is key to unlocking some of the game's best secrets and achievements. One of my favorite early-game goals was definitely befriending the townsfolk. The 'greeted 22 people' achievement you mentioned is a great start! Don't underestimate how much interacting with everyone helps. Each villager has their own story, and building relationships with them can unlock unique cutscenes, recipes, and even gifts. I found keeping a mental (or actual) list of who I'd talked to helped a lot. Their birthdays are super important for boosting friendship points quickly – a quick gift on their special day makes a huge difference! Speaking of skills, have you tried fishing yet? It can be a little tricky at first (I definitely spent way too much time flailing around!), but it's such a rewarding skill. You unlock the fishing rod pretty early on, and it's a great way to earn some extra cash, especially in the early spring when crops are still growing. Different fish appear in different locations and weather, so exploring the river, lake, and ocean adds a fun challenge. Plus, catching legendary fish is an achievement in itself! My biggest tip for early progress, especially if you're aiming for achievements, is to diversify. Don't just farm! Try mining in the caves – it's a fantastic source of materials for tool upgrades and crafting. Foraging is also super simple; just pick up anything you see on the ground for free money or useful ingredients. These activities really contribute to your overall progress and open up new areas and opportunities. For instance, reaching certain levels in mining or foraging can unlock new crafting recipes and increase your energy. One thing I wish I knew earlier was the importance of the TV. Sounds silly, but the 'Queen of Sauce' channel gives you new recipes, and the 'Fortune Teller' can tell you your luck for the day, which is super useful for mining or fishing! Also, always keep an eye on the calendar outside Pierre's shop for festivals. They're not just fun; they're great opportunities to meet villagers, buy unique items, and sometimes even participate in mini-games that give you valuable rewards. These small daily routines really add up to significant progress over time and help you tick off those achievement boxes without even realizing it. As you continue your Stardew journey, you'll find that goals naturally emerge. Maybe you want to complete the Community Center bundles, marry your favorite bachelor/bachelorette, or restore the farm to its former glory. Each of these broader goals is made up of smaller achievements. I remember the satisfaction of finally completing my first Community Center bundle – it felt like a huge milestone! Keep going, and don't be afraid to experiment. There's no wrong way to play Stardew Valley, and every step of progress, big or small, is worth celebrating. Can't wait to hear about Part 3!
