Starting over as a photographer in a new city 😭

... Read moreStarting over as a photographer in a new city like Goldsboro can be both exciting and challenging. When I moved here myself, I quickly realized that building a client base from the ground up requires patience, creativity, and community engagement. One of the most effective ways to connect with potential clients was attending local events and collaborating with other small businesses. For example, partnering with local venues and vendors allowed me to showcase my work and gain referrals. Utilizing social media platforms with targeted hashtags such as #GoldsboroPhotographer and #NCPhotographer made a huge difference in gaining visibility online. Sharing behind-the-scenes content and testimonials helped build trust and rapport with new followers. Additionally, offering special promotions or mini-sessions encouraged people to book their first shoot with me. I also made sure to highlight my unique style and the personal storytelling aspect of my photography, which resonated with the community. Networking within Goldsboro’s art and business groups has been invaluable. Meeting other creatives and small business owners opened doors to new collaborations and marketing opportunities. If you’re a photographer starting over in a new location, my advice is to immerse yourself in the local culture, be authentic in your approach, and leverage both offline and online channels to attract your ideal clients. Now, with a steadily growing client list, I feel more connected than ever to Goldsboro and am excited to capture more unforgettable moments for this amazing community.

WHAT I WOULD BUY AS A NEW PHOTOGRAPHER 🎞️
If I had to restart my photography business from scratch on a limited budget, these are the first things I’d invest in. Not the flashy gear. Not the expensive upgrades. Just the bare minimum tools that actually help you get booked and grow. I built my business with a lot of trial and erro

My 6th session as an Oklahoma City Photographer
As of now I would rather shoot as underexposure than overexposed. I don't want to always rely on this but as of now, it's a skill in my pocket 😉 #oklahomacityphotographer #oklahomaphotographer #okcphotographer #lifestylephotographer #lightroom
