One day I might loook back and think well that was embarrassing.
But maybe one day I look back and am proud of the person I am becoming.
For too long now I have judged myself, worried about what everyone else thinks. Doing it for the likes, follows, and approval.
While secretly losing myself and all confidence that I have had.
I have gained weight.
My face is broken out all the time.
I don’t feel pretty.
My house isn’t perfect.
But you know what I’m showing up for me, and doing what brings me joy without being perfect. One day my daughter will be proud of her momma too.
So F what others say.

Pregnancy is a transformative phase that often challenges not just our bodies but also our mental and emotional well-being. At 21 weeks pregnant, it's natural to experience a mix of excitement and self-doubt. I remember feeling overwhelmed by changes in my appearance and lacking the confidence I once had. Gaining weight, skin breakouts, and the pressure to maintain a perfect home and social image weighed heavily on me. However, embracing these changes instead of resisting them became a turning point. It helped me realize that perfection is an unrealistic expectation, especially during pregnancy. Instead, showing up for myself and doing what brings genuine joy made a significant difference in my mental health. This mindset shift encourages embracing imperfections and focusing on inner strengths. I also found that sharing my journey openly helped build a supportive network of people who reminded me that these feelings are normal. Practicing self-care, setting realistic goals, and reminding myself that my worth isn’t defined by others’ opinions became essential tools. This approach not only boosts confidence but also creates a nurturing environment for both me and my baby. For anyone else finding themselves in this phase, remember that your journey is unique and valuable. Finding joy in small moments and being authentic can transform your experience. One day, you too might look back proudly at the person you've become, just like I hope my daughter will see the strength and love in her momma.
