Metabolic Appointment 🫠

Today’s appointment was the longest appointment of my entire life, I think my surgery took less time.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about it to be honest. The nurse was absolutely amazing, literally the sweetest nurse I have ever met. The student doctor was also amazing as well. The doctor….. I don’t know, I feel like she brushed off a lot of my problems, but at the same time she had a lot of good information, but I don’t know it’s not sitting right with me. I’m going to try a different diet 🫠 (this will be like the 30 one i’ve tried) Hopefully this works, she told me that I don’t need to see the endocrinologist, but i’ve had two other doctors tell me that I should. I don’t know what I’m going to do, my mom seems to think this will help but she’s said that with everything the doctors have had me try, I think she just wants it to work, my hopeful mama 💛

They also drew a lot of blood, the nurse said i have gorgeous veins, she’s like the 4th nurse that has said that to me 😂 it’s funny how excited nurses get when they can see your veins easily 😂

but the bandaid irritated my skin 🥲

... Read moreNavigating healthcare for chronic illness can often be overwhelming. It’s essential to find a supportive medical team who listens and validates your concerns. Many individuals with chronic diseases undergo numerous appointments, often feeling unheard or misled by conflicting advice. Dietary changes are a common recommendation; however, finding the right approach can feel like a never-ending cycle, similar to what many experience in their health journey. As you explore new diets, consider consulting with a registered dietitian who specializes in chronic illnesses. They can help tailor a plan to suit your specific health needs and lifestyle. Moreover, always trust your instincts when it comes to your health. If something doesn’t feel right, seeking a second opinion is not only acceptable but can provide you with the reassurance needed in your treatment journey. Remember, navigating chronic illness is a personal journey, and connecting with communities or support groups can be incredibly beneficial in sharing experiences and advice on managing such challenges. Lighthearted moments, like compliments from nurses about your veins, can add a positive touch to otherwise stressful appointments. These moments remind us to find joy in the small things amidst our health battles. Embracing vulnerability by sharing these experiences can help reduce isolation and foster a sense of belonging in the chronic illness community.
