“in my opinion” 😐

I’m really getting tired of doctors saying this. She also said this multiple times during the appointment. I don’t want your opinion I want the facts. It can be contradicting what other doctors have told me and too what my body is telling me and sometimes it’s contradicting to what the facts of it are. I’m getting frustrated with doctors in general at this point. They always rush things, they act like you don’t know what’s going with your body, and they act like you’re lying. I know I know… not all doctors are like this, I know. My OBgyn doctor is an angel and not like this at all but my first OBgyn doctor was just like this and a lot of doctors are like this and it’s exhausting, annoying and disappointing. Yea they may have gone to school for this stuff but you can’t compare their years of study to actually living with it and going through it. Her yeears of study are actually less than the years that i’ve been dealing with my medical problems. I’m not saying she’s a horrible doctor by any means some of the things she said made sense and were right but she down played a lot of my symptoms, and well gave her opinion which honestly half the stuff she said made no sense, I know i’m not a doctor but it just wasn’t right and it didn’t sit right with me.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH , i’m frustrated 🫠

thank you for listening to my ted talk

... Read moreFrustration with medical advice is a common theme for many, especially those dealing with chronic illnesses. Patients often feel their lived experiences contradict what some doctors advise. It's crucial for healthcare providers to understand that while medical degrees are important, patient experiences hold significant weight in treatment discussions. Patients must advocate for themselves, communicating their symptoms and concerns effectively. Developing a trusting relationship with healthcare providers can alleviate feelings of being dismissed. Open dialogues can work wonders; asking questions and sharing individual health journeys can bridge the gap between medical opinions and personal realities. Moreover, involving a multidisciplinary team that respects both medical knowledge and patient insights can lead to more tailored healthcare solutions. Chronic illness warriors frequently express that it's not just about facts; emotional support and acknowledgment of their struggles are vital in the healing process. Through these efforts, the gap between patient experiences and medical realities can narrow, fostering a supportive healthcare environment.
