Slow progress, real results 💪

Sometimes the hardest part of the journey isn't the workout itself but silencing the voice that tells us we don't look like the girls on our feed. We see the high waistbands and the perfect angles and we start to shrink ourselves.

Today I’m choosing to show what’s underneath. The mom tummy and the skin that tells my story are just as much a part of me as the muscle I’m building. I’m still showing up and I’m still pushing through my limitations because of how much this helps my head and my heart.

This is what I love and what I have always loved to do. I’m getting stronger every single day and I’m learning that being healthy is so much deeper than a curated photo.

Be kind to yourself and remember that your progress is real even if it isn't perfect.

... Read moreStarting and continuing a fitness journey can often feel overwhelming, especially when bombarded daily by images of seemingly perfect bodies and effortless workouts on social media. From personal experience, I’ve learned that the most important part of progress is honoring where you are now, not rushing to match someone else’s timeline or appearance. For moms, this journey is uniquely challenging because it involves healing and strengthening a body that has gone through so much. The 'mom tummy' and stretch marks are not signs of imperfection—they are badges of honour that reflect strength and life stories. Showing up consistently, even on days when motivation is low, is where real growth happens. I found that focusing on mental health alongside physical health is crucial. Fitness became less about aesthetics and more about how it made me feel—stronger, more energetic, and mentally balanced. Silencing the inner critic that highlights flaws in comparison to curated feeds on Instagram was one of the hardest yet most rewarding steps. The hashtags like #realitycheck, #realmoms, #gymmotivation, and #mentalhealthmatters truly resonate because they remind us that authenticity trumps perfection. You don’t need perfect angles or flawless skin to tell a powerful fitness story. Embracing body neutrality and celebrating every small victory, whether it’s lifting a heavier weight, running a further distance, or simply showing up to workout, keeps the journey sustainable and fulfilling. If you’re struggling with your progress, remember this: fitness is not linear. There will be ups and downs, but each day you choose yourself, you build not just muscle but resilience and self-respect. Being kind to yourself means acknowledging your unique path and celebrating progress that might be slow but is real, meaningful, and lasting.
