Here my little Elf on the Shelf inspired makeup for my character CC! (Candy Cane is her full name because she loves, guess what! Candy canes. 🥰)
The way I did this was super easy and I’ve been doing it for work all month long!
• I did some peppermint/candy cane look for the eyes, using red and white eye shadows in stripes, and then using some silver glitter to help that white shine a bit more!
• I used a red eye shadow for my face to give me that ‘frosty’ look! You know the elves have those rosy cheeks from all the cold!
• After I used some red eyeshadow to outline the candy canes and some white eyeliner/paint to add the white! I also painted some ‘grass/snow’ to make it more winter wonderland! I also used red to make some dots all around my face like freckles!
• I used the same white eyeliner from earlier. (It’s elf brand) and painted white dots on my face including the snowflake!
• Last but not least, I did make a little heart in red, star in the white and added some of the silver glitter along my nose!
I get TONS of love and everyone constantly says how cute it looks. It also helps the kids come right up to me and not be so nervous either! They love seeing the little designs that ‘Santa’ gave me as a big elf on the shelf! ❤️
... Read moreCreating an Elf on the Shelf makeup look is one of my absolute favorite ways to get into the holiday spirit! It’s not just about the makeup; it's about embodying that festive, playful character that brings so much joy, especially to kids. If you've been looking for a way to make your holiday presence extra special, this cheerful elf-inspired makeup is definitely it.
First, let's talk about products. For those vibrant candy cane eyes, I've found that highly pigmented red and white eyeshadows are a must. Don't be afraid to layer them to really make those stripes pop! For added sparkle, a good cosmetic-grade silver glitter applied with a glitter primer will ensure it stays put all day without fallout. For the rosy, 'frosty' cheeks, using a matte red eyeshadow or a cream blush works wonderfully. The key is to blend it out softly for that natural, cold-weather flush. For the intricate details like the white dots, snowflakes, and even outlining candy canes, a white liquid or gel eyeliner is your best friend. I've even used an affordable 'elf brand' white eyeliner for crisp lines and dots, which works perfectly for adding those delicate touches like a snowflake or a pretty red heart on the cheek, just like in the photos!
When applying, I always start with a good primer to make sure my festive creation lasts. For the peppermint eyes, after applying your red and white stripes, carefully dab some silver glitter in the white sections to make them shimmer. For the cheeks, blend that red eyeshadow outwards from the apples of your cheeks for a truly adorable effect. For the white details, like the 'grass/snow' or simple white dots, a fine-tipped brush with your white eyeliner or face paint allows for precision. And for that extra magical touch, don't forget to add some glittery makeup around your eyes or even along your nose, just as I did. It truly ties the whole look together, making you sparkle like a winter wonderland elf!
To really complete the transformation, think about coordinating your outfit. Pairing your beautiful Elf on the Shelf makeup with a festive red elf costume, a white collar, and a cute elf hat really brings the character to life. I’ve even seen people add a fun 'Elf on the Shelf' badge for an authentic touch! And if you're feeling extra bold, a temporary pink hair color, similar to the one seen in some of the pictures, can add a unique and playful twist to your overall look. Remember, the goal is to have fun and immerse yourself in the festive spirit.
Finally, a few tips for longevity and comfort. A setting spray is crucial to keep your makeup looking fresh, especially if you'll be wearing it for events or parties. And when it's time to take it all off, always use a gentle makeup remover, especially around the delicate eye area. This look is fantastic for spreading holiday cheer, and the reactions you get, especially from children who believe you're a 'big elf' sent by Santa, are absolutely priceless. It’s a rewarding experience that makes the effort totally worthwhile!
