I miss the old 🍋8.

I'm so annoyed with political posts on here. I miss happy, fun, and silly 🍋8. I want fun posts not a Trump Mom telling me why I'm going to hell because she believes in a white Jesus. I miss when this app first came out. I hate coming on here. no matter how many people I block or posts I say I dont want to see hateful posts always come back.

It's just so sad to see.

... Read moreMany users of Lemon8 have expressed nostalgia for the app's early days when content was predominantly fun, lighthearted, and community-driven. It’s common to feel disheartened when political posts and heated debates take over a platform originally meant for creative and joyful sharing. If you’re finding it difficult to enjoy the app due to recurring political content, there are some strategies you can try to enhance your experience. First, actively using the app’s blocking and content filter features can help minimize exposure to posts that feel hateful or politically charged. Although it can be frustrating when unwanted content reappears, regularly updating your preferences and blocking problematic accounts helps improve content curation. Another approach is engaging more with the types of posts you want to see—such as fun challenges, beauty tips, recipes, or travel stories—as the app’s algorithm tends to suggest content similar to the ones you interact with most. Joining specific interest-based forums or communities within the app can also connect you with like-minded users who focus more on positive and entertaining content. It’s important to acknowledge that social media platforms often reflect broader societal conversations, including politics, which can occasionally impact even lifestyle-focused communities. Finding balance means curating your feed carefully, communicating your preferences, and sometimes taking breaks to preserve your online well-being. Remember, Lemon8 was designed as a place to share authentic and joyful moments. By focusing on original, positive content and making use of the app’s customization tools, you can recreate a lighter, fun experience closer to what you initially loved.
