Your trauma is not an acceptable excuse to not move on #theconversation98
Dealing with trauma is undoubtedly challenging, and it often influences many areas of our lives. However, from my personal experience, while trauma shapes our past, it shouldn’t be used as a reason to stay stuck indefinitely. It's important to acknowledge the impact of past events, but equally vital is the effort to move beyond them. I once found myself repeatedly blaming my past because it seemed easier than confronting the present. But this mindset hindered my personal growth and relationships. The turning point came when I realized I had the power to change my narrative. I started small—setting achievable goals, seeking support, and challenging negative thoughts rooted in trauma. Taking responsibility doesn’t mean erasing the pain but learning to integrate it constructively. Moving on involves forgiveness, acceptance, and self-compassion. It’s a gradual process where setbacks happen, but persistence is key. Through therapy, journaling, and open conversations, I developed resilience and gained control over my journey. If you resonate with the idea that trauma is the reason you can’t move on, consider reflecting on episode 96 titled "What Do You Do When You Finally Realize The Problem Was You?" It pushes us to examine how our perceptions and choices influence our healing more than the trauma itself. In summary, while trauma affects us deeply, it does not define us or dictate our future. Embracing personal responsibility empowers us to transform pain into growth and find a fulfilling path forward.
