you were going to start over today.

eat cleaner. be stricter. actually stay consistent this time.

you’ve said it before. you mean it every single time. and then life happens, cravings win, energy crashes, and you’re back to feeling like you have no willpower.

but what if willpower was never the problem?

i spent years in that cycle. restrict, fall off, restart, repeat. i thought i just wasn’t disciplined enough. i thought something was wrong with me.

turns out my cortisol was completely wrecked. and when cortisol is high, your body physically craves sugar. it holds onto fat on purpose. it kills your motivation at the cellular level.

you were never failing. your hormones were just working against you the entire time.

when i finally stopped restricting harder and started actually supporting my cortisol, the cravings stopped. the energy came back. 27 pounds came off without white knuckling it every single day.

this is not about getting back on track.

this is about finally understanding what your body actually needs.

follow me. i talk about this every single day.

comment CORTISOL and i’ll send you what finally helped me 🤍

... Read moreIf you’ve ever felt stuck in the cycle of promising yourself to eat cleaner, be stricter, and stay consistent, only to fall back into cravings and low energy, you’re not alone. Many people blame themselves for a lack of willpower, but the truth is often more complex. Cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone, plays a significant role in how our body responds to diet and lifestyle. When cortisol levels are elevated or unbalanced, it can cause sugar cravings, increase fat storage (especially around the belly), and drain your motivation. This isn’t about a lack of discipline; it’s about biology working against you when your hormones are out of sync. I personally struggled with this for years. I thought restricting food more sharply would help, but it only made things worse. Once I shifted focus from strict diets to supporting my cortisol balance through stress management, better sleep, and mindful nutrition, the cravings reduced drastically. My energy returned, and weight loss happened naturally without the struggle of constant willpower battles. Supporting cortisol doesn’t mean giving up control; it means working with your body’s signals rather than against them. Techniques like incorporating adaptogenic herbs, practicing relaxation exercises, and ensuring balanced meals with protein, healthy fats, and fiber can all support healthy cortisol levels. So next time you’re ready to "get back on track," remember it might not be about restrictions but about supporting your hormones. Understanding what your body needs on a hormonal level can transform your wellness journey into one that feels sustainable, rewarding, and truly empowering.
