Falling In Love With My “in-between” Body
I’m embracing my “in-between” body and I am loving it here! Let me just say that my starting weight was 282, my current weight is 235, and my goal weight is 140. When I embarked on this journey, I absolutely didn’t know that I’d fall in love with myself and my body. There was a lot I didn’t know about my body and weight loss in general. Your weight loss journey is just a self love journey in disguise!
I don’t remember the last time I’ve been this small and I’m glad I’ve worked to get here. There’s a lot more to losing weight mentally than I thought. I was so accustomed to my bigger clothes that I KEPT accidentally buying my old sizes. I’ll make another post on getting rid of your fat identity, but my next post will the funniest video that helped me lose weight.
What helped me was:
- constant movement, like yoga, barre, Pilates, walking and calisthenics.
- eating in a caloric deficit, sometimes it was hard but dammit it was done
- practicing balance with snacking
- fasting, 18-36 hour fasts
- and LOTS, and LOTS, and LOTS of water, I quit all sugary drinks

Embarking on a weight loss journey can be a transformative experience, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. Understanding your body and its needs plays a crucial role in achieving sustainable weight loss. Firstly, setting realistic goals, like transitioning to your ideal size, is essential. It's not just about the numbers on the scale but about how you feel in your skin. Engage in exercises that you enjoy, such as yoga or barre, which not only promote physical health but also enhance mental well-being. It's vital to establish a balanced approach to nutrition; focus on consuming whole foods and maintaining a caloric deficit while allowing for occasional indulgences. Fasting practices, like intermittent fasting, can help in regulating metabolism. Always remember to stay hydrated—water is key to optimal health. Through constant movement, positive mindset shifts, and self-compassion, you can celebrate your progress and foster a deep love for your evolving body. This journey is about more than just weight loss; it's about reclaiming your identity and embracing every change.
