Hey everyone! So, you might have seen me refer to myself as a 'Fitness Junkie,' and I wanted to take a moment to really unpack what that means to me, beyond just a catchy phrase. It’s more than just working out; it’s a whole lifestyle and mindset that has shaped so much of who I am. When people hear 'fitness junkie,' they often imagine someone obsessively in the gym, maybe even to an unhealthy degree. And while there's definitely a dedication, for me, it's rooted in a genuine love for movement and how it makes me feel. It's about the energy, the mental clarity, and the incredible feeling of pushing my body to achieve new things. It’s that feeling after a tough workout, when your muscles are buzzing, and your mind is clear – that’s pure bliss. I’ve been passionately involved in fitness for years. It’s my stress reliever, my confidence booster, and honestly, where I feel most like myself. Whether it's lifting weights, going for a run with my dog (yes, I’m a huge dog lover!), or trying a new dance class, I'm always looking for ways to stay active. There's a real joy in setting a goal and slowly but surely working towards it, seeing the progress not just in my physique but in my strength and endurance. And let's be real, a good 90s music playlist makes any workout infinitely better! However, being a 'fitness junkie' isn't always glamorous. There are days when motivation dips, or when life gets in the way. Sometimes, there’s an underlying pressure to always be on top of my game, to never miss a session, or to hit new personal bests. I’ve definitely experienced those anxious moments, as I mentioned in my initial post here on Lemon8, where I feel like I'm not doing enough, or comparing myself to others. It’s something I’m still navigating – balancing that passion with self-compassion and understanding that rest and recovery are just as crucial as the workout itself. It’s also about educating myself on proper nutrition, understanding my body's needs, and listening to its signals. It's not just about burning calories; it's about fueling my body with what it needs to thrive. This holistic approach is what truly defines being a 'fitness junkie' for me – it’s a commitment to overall well-being, not just aesthetics. It’s an ongoing journey of learning, growing, and constantly challenging myself, both physically and mentally. It’s about being strong, resilient, and embracing the process, even on the days when it feels tough. So, when I say I'm a fitness junkie, it's my way of saying I'm deeply committed to living an active, healthy, and fulfilling life, embracing all the ups and downs that come with it.
