Early entry and the skyliner
The times you see to be in line are the times BEFORE early entry starts. If park opening is 9am early entry is 8:30 be in line from pop century at 7am (example) #disneyworld #disneyskyliner #earlyentry #disneyearlyentry #disneytips
Getting to the parks for Early Entry can make or break your Disney day, and the Skyliner is a fantastic option if you're staying at a connected resort! Based on my experience, the key to truly maximizing those precious extra minutes is understanding the Skyliner's operating schedule and, more importantly, when to actually get in line. Now, you might already know that the Disney Skyliner typically opens 60 minutes before Early Entry officially begins for the parks it serves (like Epcot and Hollywood Studios). But here's where my personal tip comes in: waiting until it opens is often too late if you want to be among the first in the park. To truly beat the lines and make the most of your Early Entry, you'll want to be at your Skyliner station much earlier. For resorts like Art of Animation (AoA) and Pop Century, which are popular and have a shared station, I strongly advise aiming to be in line a full 90 minutes before Early Entry starts. It sounds early, but trust me, that time flies by with security checks, the queue itself, and the ride over. If you're staying at Caribbean Beach or Riviera Resort, you can often shave a few minutes off that, aiming for about 75 minutes before Early Entry. These resorts are closer to the main hub or have more direct routes, but demand can still be high. Why such an early start? The Skyliner is incredibly efficient, but popular. Even though the cabins move continuously, the initial rush for Early Entry means lines form quickly. Being among the first ensures you get to security promptly, board a gondola without a lengthy wait, and arrive at the park entrance (like Epcot's International Gateway or Hollywood Studios' main entrance) with time to spare before the official rope drop for Early Entry guests. This gives you a significant advantage for popular attractions like Remy's Ratatouille Adventure or Slinky Dog Dash. Beyond early mornings, remember that Disney Skyliner wait times can fluctuate throughout the day, especially around park opening, closing, and during peak meal times. If you're heading back to your resort for a break or moving between Epcot and Hollywood Studios, be mindful of these periods. Checking the My Disney Experience app for current wait times can be a lifesaver. Also, keep an eye on the weather; the Skyliner will temporarily close during lightning or high winds, so always have a backup plan (like a bus) if the skies look iffy. Knowing your route, especially if you need to transfer at the Caribbean Beach hub, will also speed up your journey. Happy sky-gliding!
