Royal Holiday
I had fun making this 💜 My holiday reads are off to a great start. The ‘Royal Holiday’ was such a delightful read.
The spice level was the right amount for an older couple. I am so happy the FMC got weak in the knees at the MMC British accent. Haha 🤣 for me I believe any accent is sexy. My husband has a country accent and I go weak in the knees every time.
Anyways, after reading this book I’m ready to plan and book a flight to London, England.
After my initial gush over Jasmine Guillory's 'Royal Holiday,' I just had to dive a bit deeper into why this book truly earned its 10/10 rating from me. If you're searching for your next heartwarming read, especially one that wraps you in festive cheer and a delightful romance, look no further. This isn't just any holiday romance; it's a journey that perfectly blends the magic of the season with the thrill of discovering love later in life. What immediately drew me in was the focus on an older couple. It's so refreshing to read about characters who’ve lived a little, bringing their own unique baggage and wisdom to a blossoming relationship. The chemistry between Vivian and Malcolm is just palpable, and their story unfolds with a genuine sweetness that still manages to be incredibly steamy – truly, the 'spice' level was perfectly calibrated, making it a wonderful 'Vacation Type of Love' story that feels mature yet exciting. It's not often you find a book that gets this balance so right, celebrating love blossoming at any age. And let's talk about the setting! As I mentioned, this book absolutely fueled my desire to hop on a plane to London. Guillory does an incredible job of painting a vivid picture of the city during the holidays. I could almost picture myself strolling past Big Ben, catching a glimpse of a classic red bus, or standing by an iconic telephone booth, all while wrapped up in the festive atmosphere. It truly felt like I was on a holiday right alongside Vivian, experiencing the charm of an English Christmas. This 'International Type of Love' story thrives on the cultural nuances and the joy of exploring a new place, making it feel like a mini-vacation in itself. The dynamic between the American and British characters adds such a fun layer. The British accent alone is enough to make anyone weak in the knees, and honestly, who can blame anyone for falling for that charm? It’s those small, charming differences that make their connection even more endearing. This book truly embodies the spirit of a 'Holiday Romance,' not just because of the festive backdrop, but because it’s about finding unexpected joy and connection when you least expect it. If you're wondering if 'Royal Holiday' by Jasmine Guillory is for you, I'd say yes, especially if you love feel-good stories with depth, beautiful settings, and a romance that makes your heart flutter. It’s perfect for cozying up with a warm drink, escaping into a world of British charm and holiday spirit. Seriously, give this one a read; it’s a delightful escape that will leave you smiling long after you've turned the last page. It's a testament to how love stories can be rich, real, and utterly enchanting at any stage of life.
