this vision was there the execution was… questionable 😂
I made this video month 7 of my contact creation journey (in 2024), and for some reason didn’t understand that companies can’t use copyrighted music for their ads on social (unless they got the rights of course)
so needless to say, they could not use this video and my TT shop score went wayyyy down cause I refused to switch the song😂😂
Don’t be like me
When I first started creating content for social media ads, like many creators, I didn't fully grasp the importance of music rights. Using copyrighted music without proper licensing is a major issue, especially for brands and companies running ads, as it can lead to videos being rejected or even account penalties. From my experience, incorporating popular songs without rights not only limited the usability of my video ads but also affected my TikTok shop score negatively. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook have strict policies against unauthorized music use, and their content moderation systems can greatly impact the reach and effectiveness of your ads. To avoid these problems, I recommend utilizing royalty-free or licensed music from reputable sources. Many sites offer affordable, high-quality tracks that can elevate your content legally. Also, consider using original compositions or collaborating with independent musicians who can grant you permission to use their work exclusively. Another tip is to always check the platform's music policies before finalizing your video. If a song is flagged, it's better to replace it early on rather than risking your ad's visibility and account reputation. Finally, if you find yourself in a bind, creative alternatives like voiceovers, sound effects, or using silent clips can also work effectively without infringing on copyright. By learning from these mistakes and respecting music copyrights, content creators can ensure smoother ad campaigns, better engagement, and avoid the frustrating experience of having videos blocked or penalized.
