let’s go outside, cousin!
to all my fellow introverts, ambiverts, homebodies, etc..TRUST I truly understand the comforts of being indoors, but if you’re trying to build community, you have to be IN THE community!
So cheers to going outside, making connections, and going to events and spaces with people you’re aligned with and want to learn from🥳🧡
And shoutout to the ladies that curated this experience for women in these spaces 💐 @ashleighofford @dedicatedwithmonika @softlifesocialclub 🧡👏🏾
As someone who often prefers the quiet comfort of staying indoors, I totally resonate with the struggle of pushing yourself to go outside and socialize. It can feel draining or intimidating, especially if you're naturally more introverted or an ambivert who enjoys balance. But through my experience attending local community events, especially those focused on content creators and women’s networking, I've learned that the benefits far outweigh the initial discomfort. Going outside and engaging in community activities creates opportunities to meet like-minded people who share your values and interests. This helps grow not just your social network but also your personal and professional support system. For example, events like those curated by @ashleighofford, @dedicatedwithmonika, and @softlifesocialclub in Orlando provide safe, welcoming environments where women empower each other. These spaces foster learning, collaboration, and meaningful friendships. Moreover, embracing these moments outside of your comfort zone promotes self-growth and enriches your daily life. Even if you feel like “the CEO of homebody” as the OCR phrase perfectly puts it, trust that being IN the community - whether online or offline - contributes positively to your mental wellness and creativity. Small steps like attending workshops, meetups, or casual social gatherings can gradually make going out feel more natural and rewarding. So to all fellow introverts, ambiverts, and indoor lovers, here’s my advice: Start with events aligned with your passions or professional goals and give yourself grace as you navigate the social energy. Celebrate the courage it takes to say yes to these experiences, and cherish the unique connections you make along the way. After all, community is not just about being around others — it’s about finding your own tribe where you can belong and thrive.
