1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

2 cups marinara sauce

1-2 boxes bow tie noodles

2 ½ cups beef broth

½ cup milk

1 cup mozzarella cheese(or more to your liking)

1. Cook meat until it has browned, Drain any excess fat.

2. Add all of your seasonings and mix

3. Add 2 cups marinara sauce, uncooked pasta, 2 ½ cups beef broth, and ½ cup milk, and then mix.

4.Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.

5.Allow the mixture to simmer for about 15 minutes, or until your pasta is cooked.

6. Add in your shredded mozzarella cheese and allow the dish to cook until the cheese is fully melted.

You can serve it like this

... Read moreI absolutely love discovering new ways to make weeknight dinners exciting and easy, and this Lasagna Hamburger Helper recipe is a true gem! But let's be honest, sometimes we crave that extra depth, that luxurious 'four cheese' experience, or a really rich, 'dark' sauce that makes every bite feel like a hug. I've played around with this recipe quite a bit, and I’ve got some tips to elevate it even further, turning it into a true family favorite that feels gourmet without the fuss. First, let's talk about that glorious cheese! While mozzarella is fantastic for that classic melt, to truly hit that 'four cheese lasagna' vibe, I love adding a few more varieties. After you've got your pasta cooked and the mozzarella melting in, try stirring in a generous handful of freshly grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano. This instantly boosts the savory, salty notes. For an even creamier texture and a hint of tang, a dollop of ricotta cheese stirred in right at the end, or even layered under the mozzarella if you're baking it, makes a world of difference. Sometimes, I even sprinkle a little shredded provolone or a sharp cheddar for a more complex flavor profile. The key is to get that bubbly cheese topping that's so irresistible, especially if you opt for the baked finish. The way the melted cheese turns golden brown with a crispy texture when baked is just heavenly. And for those of us who appreciate a truly 'dark' and robust sauce, there are a few tricks I've picked up. It starts with the browning ground beef – don't rush it! Let it get nicely caramelized; those browned bits add so much flavor. When you're adding your marinara sauce and *beef broth*, consider a small splash of balsamic vinegar or even a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. These secretly deepen the umami and give the sauce a richer, almost 'darker' hue and flavor. For an extra layer, I sometimes add a pinch of dried porcini mushroom powder or a tiny bit of dark cocoa powder (trust me on this one, just a tiny bit!) – it won't make it taste like chocolate, but it’ll enhance the savory notes and overall richness of your *simmering marinara sauce*. This also contributes to that satisfying, deep color that might be what people are looking for with 'dark hamburger helper.' Another personal touch to make it feel even more like a traditional lasagna, even in its one-pan glory, is how you serve it. Instead of just scooping, if you're baking it, consider a small, oven-safe dish for individual servings. Layer some of the meat mixture with a bit of cheese, then more pasta, and top with more cheese before popping it in the oven. This creates those distinct layers that scream 'lasagna.' The bow tie pasta holds the sauce beautifully, making each bite a delight. This dish is a fantastic canvas for creativity. It truly embodies the idea that *good food can instantly lift your spirits*. It’s become one of my favorite Dish Discoveries for busy evenings, and with these little tweaks, I guarantee your homemade Lasagna Hamburger Helper will be a showstopper!
