If you love the comforting flavors of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and the warm sweetness of French toast, this Maple Cream Pie recipe offers a delightful dessert experience. The secret to its rich, velvety texture lies in the heavy cream and cornstarch combination, which thickens the filling gradually as you whisk and cook it over medium-low heat. Using pure maple syrup and maple extract adds an authentic maple flavor that pairs beautifully with vanilla extract and a touch of salt to balance the sweetness. When preparing the topping, melting unsalted butter and combining it with sugar and cinnamon creates a fragrant and slightly crunchy layer that complements the smooth filling perfectly. Remember to keep an eye on your pie while baking at 350°F. The crust should turn a lovely golden brown, and the filling will bubble and set with a slight wobble in the center, indicating it’s ready to come out of the oven. This Maple Cream Pie is an excellent choice for holiday gatherings such as Thanksgiving, thanks to its warm seasonal spices and hearty flavors. For best results, use high-quality heavy whipping cream and pure maple syrup, as these ingredients significantly impact the taste and texture. Additionally, if you want to get creative, you can pair the pie with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of chopped nuts for added texture. Incorporating this pie into your recipe rotation not only introduces a nostalgic flavor reminiscent of a beloved breakfast cereal but also provides a sophisticated dessert that guests will appreciate. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or trying this recipe for the first time, take your time with each step to ensure the filling thickens properly and the topping is evenly spread for that perfect Cinnamon Toast Crunch-inspired finish.

Maple and cinnamon are such a classic combo! My grandma used to make something similar.
