How I learned what was really wrong with me!

#recovery #wellness #menopause #lemon8challenge

I have been dealing with what I thought was a lot of health issues that kept compiling on top of one another but my gut told me it was something else! My primary care physician insisted I was too young to have any menopausal symptoms and so instead of one issue I've been diagnosed with about a dozen other conditions. On my last visit I told her about how I had been waking up completely drenched in sweat and burning up. I would have to change my bed sheets and clothes and take a cool shower before I could go back to bed. She advised I was having panic attacks...in my sleep? I don't think so... but I let her say what she had to say and decided to get a second opinion. I first went to work and talked to a friend of mine who was a PT ICU RN. I told her about everything and she laughed and told me to get a new doctor and proceeded to tell me about Perimenopause! It checked all the boxes. Then a few weeks later a Facebook Influencer described another dynamic of issues regarding relationships during Perimenopause she described my current relationship issues and described every symptom I was having even down to the itching! So needless to say I have plans to get testing done but for now I have been using the home remedies! I share my story in detail on the last page of this post! If you are experiencing any of the same symptoms described, and are in you mid thirties or older let me know if you have already known about this phase in the change, or if you just learned something, and will now be seeking medical help for your issues? Share your symptoms and experiences in the comments!

"This time of our change will pass us soon my friends, this time for change will pass, and leave us soon so I wish you all the best as you battle through the change!"

... Read morePerimenopause is often overlooked, yet it can affect women as early as their mid-thirties. Many experience a range of symptoms including irregular cycles, hot flashes, mood swings, and more. Recognizing these signs is crucial for seeking appropriate treatment. It’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional who specializes in menopause to ensure a proper diagnosis and to discuss treatment options that can include lifestyle changes and hormone therapy. Many women find it helpful to connect with others facing similar challenges, and sharing experiences can lead to a better understanding of this transitional phase. Awareness campaigns and communities, both online and offline, play a significant role in education and support. Making dietary adjustments, engaging in regular exercise, and implementing stress management techniques such as yoga or mindfulness can assist in managing symptoms. As awareness grows, addressing the often-taboo topics surrounding menopause and perimenopause is pivotal in improving the quality of life for many women. If you suspect that hormonal changes are impacting your health, don’t hesitate to reach out to specialists who can guide you through understanding and managing your symptoms effectively.

This slide explains that overeating is often the brain seeking comfort, escape, stimulation, or control, not hunger. It emphasizes identifying the 'why' behind eating and notes that external cues can trigger eating without hunger. The title is "What Overeating Really is."
Titled "Emotional Eating Triggers," this slide lists signs like eating when bored/sad/anxious, feeling guilty, lacking physical hunger, and continuing to eat when full. It explains emotional eating as a learned coping mechanism, not a willpower failure, driven by emotional triggers.
