Do you think Zeus enjoyed it? 🛁🤎🐾
Adoptable through @Weird Rescue Zeus is a 3-year-old, high-energy Doberman with the biggest heart and the goofiest personality.
He’s a total sweetheart with a heart of gold. He still has plenty of playful puppy energy and gets the zoomies often, but his favorite thing in the world? Being with his people. 🥰
Whether he’s carrying his favorite blanket from room to room, following you around the house, or soaking up every ounce of attention he can get, this boy is always smiling.
Zeus is very smart and loves to work. He’s fully obedience trained, attends Rally classes, and truly shines with structure and purpose. Highly food motivated, he’s eager to learn, loves to please, and is an absolute dream for anyone who enjoys training dogs. He has been obedience trained in both English and French.
He gets along wonderfully with all of our dogs, and absolutely loves kids. Because of his play style, he does best with dogs 30 pounds and up.
He would thrive with an adopter who has working-breed experience and is excited to continue giving him structure, training, and plenty of adventures.
He is crate trained, X-pen trained, house trained, neutered, vaccinated, and more than ready to find his forever family. 💛
Just a few months ago, Zeus was sitting in a shelter after his family moved away. Three days later, he was scheduled to be euthanized.
Thankfully, the incredible team at Weird Rescue saw what everyone who meets him sees, a goofy, loving dog who simply needed someone to believe in him.
Watching Zeus embrace his second chance has been one of the greatest privileges, and we know his perfect family is out there.
If you think that could be you, please apply through Weird Rescue. 🤎
Having personally spent time with high-energy Dobermans like Zeus, I can attest to how much structure and love they thrive on. Dogs with this breed’s energy and intelligence truly flourish when given a consistent routine and plenty of mental stimulation, such as obedience and rally training. Zeus’s love for carrying his favorite blanket around and following his people shows just how attached and affectionate he is. What stands out about Zeus is not just his playful zoomies and sweet smile but also his eagerness to learn and please. His ability to respond to commands in both English and French highlights his intelligence and adaptability, making training a joyful experience for both dog and owner. He’s a perfect match for someone with prior working-breed experience who wants a canine companion excited for adventures and new challenges. Another important aspect is his background. Not many know how close Zeus came to euthanasia just months ago, a fate averted only thanks to a dedicated rescue team. This backstory makes his transformation and joy even more inspiring. For adopters, understanding the emotional and behavioral growth in rescued dogs like Zeus can be incredibly rewarding as they watch their new family member bloom. For those considering adopting a dog like Zeus, patience and commitment to ongoing training are key. His love for food rewards shows that positive reinforcement works wonderfully. Also, since he does best with dogs over 30 pounds due to his energetic play style, it’s good to factor that into family dynamics. Kids are a great fit too, as Zeus adores them, but supervision during play is a must to ensure everyone stays safe and happy. Bath time routines, as highlighted by the caption 'My weird foster’s bath routine,' can also be bonding moments. While some dogs shy away from water, Zeus appears to enjoy these sessions, showing his trusting and calm nature when cared for properly. If you’re ready to provide a loving, structured, and engaging environment for a dog like Zeus, applying through Weird Rescue can open the door to a fulfilling companionship. His story is a testament to second chances and the joy rescue dogs can bring into our lives.
