Do you think Bagel enjoyed it? 🛁🩷
Bagel is now adoptable through @Underdog Heroes 🥰
This sweet beagle has the funniest, sassiest personality and keeps us laughing every day. She’s a total class clown who loves her toys, has become a BIG foodie, and is extremely treat motivated, which makes training her a breeze.
Bagel has basic obedience training, a good recall, is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and can be left loose in the house while you’re away. She absolutely loves other animals and does well with gentle kids.
Most of the time, she’s a calm and easygoing girl, but a few times a day she gets crazy zoomies and will show off her beautiful voice 🤣🌪️
Just a few months ago, Bagel didn’t even have a name. She was only known by an ID number and had spent years in a testing facility, where she lived in a cage and learned that human hands meant fear and pain.
Now, she’s a goofy, sassy, food-loving beagle who has learned that people can be trusted. Watching her discover her personality and learn that life can actually be fun has been incredible.
She still needs a family who will be patient with her history and continue showing her that she is safe and loved, but she is absolutely ready for her forever home! A home with beagle experience would be a plus, but not required.❤️
Huge thank you to Underdog Heroes Rescue, @OneMuttAtATimeRescue, and @Big Dog Ranch Rescue for saving these dogs and giving them the life they always deserved.

I’ve had the chance to foster rescue dogs before, and I can say that Beagles like Bagel are truly special. Their playful, clownish personalities bring so much joy, but their past experiences often require a lot of patience and understanding. During bath time, which is part of their care routine, these pups can go from calm to lively quickly—Bagel’s bath moments captured in the image highlight how they can be both silly and sweet. For rescue dogs who have endured testing facilities or shelter environments, seemingly small routines like baths become moments where trust and comfort are rebuilt. In my experience, treats become essential training tools. Like Bagel, many Beagles are highly food motivated, which helps teach recall, leash walking, and basic obedience. However, adopting a dog with a past similar to Bagel’s means being prepared for some initial cautiousness around new people or sudden noises. Continual reassurance and positive reinforcement are key to helping them feel safe. If you’re considering adopting a dog like Bagel, having some Beagle experience—or at least a willingness to learn about their unique characteristics—makes a big difference. They tend to have bursts of energy called "zoomies" and a vocal nature that can surprise new owners, but this is part of their charm! Ultimately, giving a rescue dog a forever home means sharing your life and patience as they come out of their shell and show their true, playful selves.
