A few of my favorites recently while my body recovers from vacation. That sounds ridiculous but the energy it takes for me to people does a number on my body 🥳 I feel goooood with a tan hahahah #restisresistance #stoopgirl #fyp
After coming back from vacation, I found that my energy levels weren’t bouncing back immediately, especially after interacting with a lot of people. It’s surprising how much energy socializing can drain, even when you’re usually outgoing! Embracing the concept of #restisresistance really helped me accept that resting isn’t just laziness but a form of self-care that’s necessary to recharge. During this recovery, I noticed how much better I felt simply allowing myself some downtime, avoiding unnecessary commitments, and soaking in the sunny vibes that came with my tan. The tan wasn’t just about aesthetics — it symbolized soaking up positive energy and reconnecting with the outdoors, which gave me a mental boost. It’s important to listen to your body’s cues. Sometimes we push ourselves to do too much, especially after a busy period like a vacation. Prioritizing rest can improve not only physical health but also mental clarity and emotional balance. Incorporating mindful relaxation activities, such as light stretching, meditation, or simply enjoying quiet moments on my stoop (#stoopgirl), added to my sense of rejuvenation. Sharing this experience with others who understand the value of slowing down can encourage us all to normalize rest as resistance. From my recent experience, I’ve learned that rest isn’t just a passive state but an active strategy to rebuild energy, boost mood, and get ready for what’s next. If you’re feeling drained after social events or travel, try embracing rest and let your body bounce back naturally while enjoying the small joys, like a healthy tan and peaceful moments alone.
