Casting a Circle

Call the elements (optional but powerful): Starting from the East (Air), then South (Fire), West (Water), and North (Earth, or Earth for some traditions), you can briefly acknowledge each element. Something like, "Guardians of the East, I invite your presence and protection into this circle." This really helps solidify the energetic boundaries. Don't forget Spirit – your own inner guidance! Charge the space: Feel the energy of the circle growing around you, forming an impenetrable barrier. Visualize it glowing with protective light. This is your safe haven, where your energy is focused and your spellwork is amplified. Work your magic! Now you're ready to perform your ritual or spell. Stay within your circle until you're done. Once you've completed your workings, it's crucial to close the circle. Don't just walk away! Thank the elements or guardians you invited. Then, starting from the North and moving counter-clockwise, mentally or physically dissolve the circle, pushing the energy back into the earth. You can say something like, "The circle is open, but unbroken. Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again." This releases the energy and allows you to return to your everyday space.
