Sad I've Finished the Series
Ruins was the perfect ending to a dystopian YA series with it's pulse on current topics.
In this series we find human rights and the struggle to see everyone as equals, an out of control hierarcy hell bent on bending the planet to their will and their will alone, authorities medically trained who have taken an oath to first do no harm and yet have flown off the rails enough to be brutal and unwilling to see those they harm as human and deserving of the same basic rights as anyone else. There is struggle there is betrayal and there is death. This is a world of true pain, physically... mentally and emotionally. It's a world where even in the face of rampant atrocities and utter despair... hope, the primal drive to be able to live free and with the same rights as anyone else and love still shine like a beacon.
Ruins tells the story of 2 factions who put their differences and personal agendas a side to fight for 1 goal... the survival of the planet...
I truly enjoyed reading it as did I the first 2 books in the series.
