✨prism prompt check-in✨
this week our focus is on the word GENEROSITY. if you haven't had a chance to exercise the prism prompt there's still time!
have you ever considered that you are the recipient of the greatest act of generosity known to mankind? that’s the way everything in the spirit realm views it. you see, in giving His Son, the Father displayed generosity in its complete perfection, for a pure heart of generosity gives without expectation of anything in return. there is no debt — nothing to be repaid, nothing owed, nothing held over another’s head.
as His daughter, God has generously placed His Spirit within you to dwell forever. He is your access to this deep, pure generosity that comes from Heaven. and as you cultivate intimacy with Him, you’ll find that He’s not waiting with His hand out for a payback. He’s not holding His gifts of generosity over your head. He gave to you simply because He loves you.
in john 15:13 Jesus said it this way, "greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." read that again. the Maker and King of Heaven and Earth calls you friend. He has no hidden agenda, and there are no strings attached. He gave out of the purity and goodness of His nature because He desires to be close to you. and now, from that space, you have the beautiful ability to give to others. whether it be your time, talents, or resources, you have the grace to be generous towards those the Father places around you.
take a moment and ask Holy Spirit to quiet your mind and heart. reflect on the depth of the Father's love and generosity towards you. now, ask Him to give you new revelation about His great gift. finally, ask Him for a creative way to be generous to someone around you this week. set a specific date and time to do that thing and watch how Holy Spirit continues to reveal the glory of generosity to you! by embracing this opportunity to give selflessly, the spirit of God’s generosity will permeate both your life, and theirs.

It’s funny how sometimes a single word, like our 'PRISM word of the week: generosity,' can truly shift your perspective. I used to think of generosity mostly in terms of money, but this journey has shown me that true generosity is so much wider, so much deeper. It’s about giving without expectation, not just of a physical return, but even of a 'thank you' or recognition. It’s about that quiet act of kindness because your heart is simply moved. Reflecting on the idea of 'God bestowing gifts on us simply because He loves us,' it really hit me: if God gives so freely to me, how can I not extend that same spirit? I've come to realize that God gave you the vision to be generous in your unique way. Maybe it’s not a grand, world-changing vision, but a gentle nudge to listen to a friend, offer a helping hand, or share a skill you have. For me, it often looks like using my words to encourage someone who’s struggling, or simply offering my time when I’d rather be doing something else. It’s about recognizing the opportunities He places in front of me, big or small. I remember a time when I felt so drained, and a friend asked for help with a project. My initial thought was, 'I don't have the energy!' But then I felt that quiet prompting, that divine inspiration, urging me to just show up. I decided to give without expecting anything in return, not even a boost to my own mood. Surprisingly, in the act of helping, I found renewed energy and a deep sense of purpose. It was a beautiful reminder that when we tap into God’s endless well of love, we find the capacity to give even when we feel empty. So, how can we cultivate this kind of true generosity in our daily lives? It's not always easy, especially when life gets busy or we feel overlooked. But this is where I find strength in scripture. You know, the Bible encourages us in Hebrew 4:16 to 'approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.' For me, this verse has become such an anchor. When I feel my own generosity waning, or when I'm tempted to hold back, I remember I can go straight to God. I can ask Him for the grace to be generous, to see others through His eyes, and to act on those quiet promptings. It's not about mustering up generosity from my own limited resources, but about drawing from His limitless supply. Whether it's laying down one's life for one's friends (John 15:13) in a symbolic way, like sacrificing your time, or just offering a genuine compliment, every act of selfless giving spreads a ripple of God's love. It's a powerful way to live out our faith. So, as the 'PRISM word of the week' encourages, let's look for creative ways to be generous this week. And remember, you can always 'save for yourself or share with a friend!' this message of hope and love. Because the more we give, the more we experience the overflowing joy that comes from living a truly generous life, just as God intended.
